S&L Juniors U10 Whites - S&L U9, U10 & U11s

Great friendly tournament, on a perfect sunny day on the grass pitches at Ashford Park School.

3rd overall, an level on points with the 2nd place. Only a one goal difference from our 2-0 loss kept us below! Super result!

Games went:

U9 Blues: 1-1. They scored on 9, Erick evened it up on 12:30. Legrand assist.

U10 Blues: 1-0. Dexter10:30. Louie assist.

U9 Golds: 0-2. They scored 4:30 and 12:30.

U10 Golds: 0-0.

U11 Girls: 1-0. Dexter penalty.

3rd/ 4th play off: 0-2 (pens).

Some great play and team work. We often look sturdy through defence and midfield allowing us to win by the small margins. Games of old we'd have needed 3 as we'd have let in that many!

It's got to be said we've still got work on behaviour. One example of a few: We wanted to get the passing ring with defenders going and it took so long. We know we can pass and shoot unopposed, but this would have given us great benefit as a match scenario. It was also low cardio effort to not wear us out (like Wembley). We do this for a reason: please listen and help in future.

We still see a few too many long legs out to try and bring aerial balls under control, with mixed success, especially when also challenged by an oppo. Get under the ball more and use a part of the body (not hand/arm!) to knock it to a position you can then dribble from.

There were lots of good teams there today (and the U9s are with the best) so great tournament result all! We look forward to the upcoming 3 we have booked!
