Girls U12 Major (2013) - Rathangan FC

Naas’ U12 Major side put in a huge team effort in losing out to a very strong Rathangan outfit at home on Friday evening.
Playing their first match in a couple of weeks, Naas were put under a lot of pressure in the opening half and found themselves with a lot of ground to make up.
Abbygail O’Connor made some important saves and Alex Brereton played a big role in keeping things tight in the centre of defence.
Alana Fossland and Yuna Cahill made a string of important tackles while others took turns at the back through the game. Chloe O’Brien had to retire early but not before some good defensive work.
The midfield worked tirelessly with Claire McGrath, Cora Morgan and Alanna Leyton all taking turns in central roles.
Evie Dodd, Millie Mulhall and Layla Drewitt put in big shifts outside while Emma Faughnan was straight in to the action on a brilliant debut for the team.
Aoife Kavanagh spent most of the game posing a threat up front and also put in a turn at right-back late in the second-half as the girls continue to get game time in different positions.
Claire McGrath’s goal midway through the second-half was an overdue reward for Naas who really deserved at least one more on a night where they never gave up.
Naas: Abbygail O’Connor, Chloe O’Brien, Alex Brereton, Claire McGrath, Evie Dodd, Cora Morgan, Millie Mulhall, Layla Drewitt, Aoife Kavanagh, Emma Faughnan, Yuna Cahill, Alanna Leyton, Alana Fossland
