Arlington FC v Naas AFC 

A fine performance on a lovely sunny morning saw our M3 U13 team return home from Portalrington with all 3 points. From the very off Naas dominated the ball and created a fine early chance after Ben Coyne found Luke Hickey in the box but his shot was save well by the Arlington keeper. The same combination put us 1-0 up after Ben had gone passed 2 defenders his initial shot was saved well but when the ball cam back to him he found the unmarked Luke 5 yard out who smashed the ball into the roof of the net. The second goal came shortly after, great work on the left from Riley Mulvaney had him cutting in from the left, beating 2-3 players before playing a lovely through ball for Luke to run onto and slot home in the bottom corner. Arlington then found a spark and started to apply pressure on the Naas goal but the back four and Noah playing his first game in goal for 4 months stood firm.

The second half started much the same as the first, a good move down the left between Tandy and Scott Byrne found Riley moving into the area only to be bundled over, the ref pointed to the spot and Ben stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way. A couple of changes were then made and we saw Bobby and Max Kennedy playing centre midfield together. The fourth goal came after an attack from Arlington was pulled back for off side, Scott McGarr sent the free kick forward only for it to be flicked on by an Arlington defender, Ben latched onto the free ball and powered it passed the keeper. Further chances arrived for Donnacha and Fionn who both worked the keeper. The lads stepped off in the last 5 mins and allowed Arlington to have a few chances but they found Andrew and Dylan in fine form and when they did beat the back four Noah snuffed out any other chances.
