Naas U10 Green's maintain their winning ways

On a bright and sunny day in Castledermot, the Naas U10 Green team faced Castle Villa. A big pitch with an uneven surface meant this would be a day to dig deep.

The first half was very close and competitive, with strong defensive displays from Michael O'Connell and Tadhg Maher keeping the opposition at bay. With chances at both ends, Mikolaj Podgorniak and Raphael Kehoe worked hard to keep things ticking over in midfield. Unfortunately the half ended with Castle Villa snatching a goal to take a lead into the break.

At half time, the coaches couldn't fault the effort and the message was just to keep working hard for each other. The players responded and started the 2nd half well. It wasn't long before Ben Reilly played in Jamie Lillis to equalise, keeping up Jamie's record of scoring in every game this season.

Castle Villa went in search of another goal, but Sean Browne and Shuayb Islam defended brilliantly to keep them out. When they got through the defensive line, Thomas Friel made some outstanding saves to keep the game level.

Naas started to take control of the game and after coming close on several occasions, Faniel Futsom played in Gavish Gaba to give Naas the lead. With Patrick Hanrahan and Alex Hackett coming close, Naas pushed for the third goal to seal it. That eventually game with Vlad Caracu drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

A tough game that could have gone either way, but the Naas Green's showed a great fighting spirit to maintain their 100% record this season.
