Men's 1st XV - Annan

Oban Lorne returned to Glencruitten in glorious sunshine for their latest league clash, this time against Annan. The match began evenly, with both sides trading early tries and Annan adding a penalty to edge slightly ahead.
Oban then began to stretch the game, using the full width of the pitch—something they’ve been focusing on in training. That effort was rewarded with a couple of well-worked tries, giving the home side a bit of breathing room. But Annan, to their credit, showed plenty of grit and battled back to keep the scoreline tight going into half time.
In the second half, Oban upped the intensity. Although discipline became an issue, with a couple of yellow cards handed out, their attacking intent was clear. When Oban shifted to a more direct style, it proved too much for the Annan defence, who struggled to contain the pressure across the park.
Player of the Match Blair MacFarlane led the way with a superb hat-trick and an all-round excellent performance. Additional tries came from Calum MacDonald, Calum MacLachlan, Lorne MacLachlan, Fergus Taylor, Bruce Wilmer, and captain Jamie Bate.
With just three games left in a long season—two away and one final home game—Oban now prepare to travel to Bishopton next.
