Girls U12's Lionesses - Stratford Town

Strong performance this morning by the girls away at Stratford Town. 

Very pleased with everyone’s performance today.

Lots of good things happening all over the pitch. 

Nice to see passes being made, lots of shots, good tackles and more communication between each other. 

We played well first half and ended up going in 2 up after a lovely first goal from Emma, followed by a far post tap in from Erin.

Second half saw the girls really take control with Sophia and Emma controlling the game from centre midfield.  

Stratford goalie made some great saves through the game.

We did add to our tally in the second half with goals from Elysia, Erin, Layla, Sophia and Lacey.

Jess did put the ball in the net but was disallowed for an earlier foul, great finish though Jess ! 

Myanna played well today which was her best game to date. 

Amalia was as dependable as ever making some good defensive interceptions.

Captain Peyton wearing her FA play safe captain armband led by example in defence with great tackles, passes and clearances.

Mona, Mimi, Erin and Elysia did well on the left and right of midfield, working hard up and down the pitch, and chipping in with some nice goals too.

Sophia and Emma were both very composed in play from the centre of the pitch. 

Jessica had her best game to date also, controlling the ball and getting around the pitch well. 

Lacey smashed home a penalty in great fashion after a handball in the box. 

Layla got the goal she was hunting for with a smart right foot finish. 

Erin added her second with a nice right foot finish into the bottom corner

Elysia scored a really nice goal which included some neat footwork, followed up be another shortly after.

Stratford used the power play adding extra players and we coped well with this.

Great to keep an impressive start to the season going.
