U11 Calcio Talent & Select - York city ladies u12s

Another fantastic 8-2 win for Calcio U-11! It wasn’t the quickest start, with the first quarter finishing 1-1, but the team really found their rhythm and dominated the next three quarters.

There was some great individual play, with Rocco, Seb, Louis, and Ali all getting on the scoresheet, and Fin and Josh bagging two goals each. It was especially encouraging to see how brave the players were in 1v1 situations, taking on their opponents and always looking to play forward when their opportunity. The team also did really well playing out from the back, showing excellent composure and decision-making.

One highlight was the short corner routine  something I’d asked them to try out during the quarter break — which led to a well-worked goal. Great to see them applying what we’ve been told

A special mention has to go to Clay, who was my man of the match. He stepped in at centre-back, a position he doesn’t usually play, and absolutely nailed it. Defensively solid, composed on the ball, and really brought balance to the team. His performance was a big part of today’s success.

Overall, it was a well-deserved win and another three points in the bag. Well done to everyone, and let’s keep this momentum going into next week! Have a great one!
