Boys U13's Spitfires - Hartshill

Stockton juniors u12 vs Hartshill U12

A very hot one for the boys today with the temperature above 20°c at kick off.

First half was evenly matched with both teams playing good football but unable to create any clear cut chances. Both sets of defences were solid and the midfielders were cancelling each other out.

Half time 0-0

Second half was a lot more open. Harsthill took the lead with a fantastic long range effort which was harsh on Stockton but nothing they could of done about it. The boys quickly responded, a dangerous corner into the six yard box found Ben in space and he volleyed past the keeper. Stockton pushed forward looking to take the lead and were unfortunate not to do so. Ben hit the post after being 1 on 1 with the keeper, the ball was then recycled to Dougie 20 yards from goal but his shot struck the crossbar!

Against the run of play Hartshill took the lead from a corner tapping the ball in from 2 yards. This did not knock the boys confidence and they pushed forward looking for a deserved equaliser. It eventually came 3 minutes from time, Ben ran into the channel and played a good ball across the box to Chace. Chace took a touch, dropped his shoulder to beat his marker and rifled the ball in from 6 yards.

Final score 2-2

Another game where the boys have left everything on the pitch. Lots of good communication and encouragement with each other.
