S&L Juniors U10 Whites - S@L Juniors U10 Blues
Great game and team effort. From being 4-0 down, we managed to score 5 to their 2. If only we had 2 mins more we'd have done it; their goal was being peppered by our shots. Their keeper kept them in it.
I don't know what we did differently as team and formation remained quite consistent. I think we just started clicking after a long break from matches. Starting this way next time would mean we don't concede 4 goals and gives us a simpler task! Made for a great game to watch though!
I really saw that you listened to some coaching advice. Passing was much shorter and much more direct. It gave us much more of the ball and better opportunities. Goal kicks and corners included, well done and keep this up!
I saw some great defensive challenges all over the pitch. We used our body weight to shield the ball and often tried to make tackles to win the ball back. Super again!
We did have a few balls passed across our defensive box, and some passes not hit convincingly. This did add some problems in defence and gave oppo a few easy goals. Overall this wasn't often, it was just there sometimes.
To be a well gelled team I'd like to hear more off the ball calling to those with it. "Man on" (when oppo are close), "turn" (when they have time on the ball to turn) or "me" (at the moment you want/ have space for a pass) should all be common. Use a loud voice so you can be heard. No one has eyes in the back of their heads so this helps us greatly as a team.
We must all be mindful in dead ball periods to reset to a good starting position or break away fast for a pass to catch oppo unaware. In some instances we got distracted and we weren't 'on our toes', or predicting next action.
Hold your heads up high though; that was a great team performance and game! Well done.
