U13 Orange - Brinklow Eagles

Top of the table clash with a lot on the line, and once again these boys rose to the challenge.

They've consistently challenged themselves this season and have maintained fantastic levels to win 7 and draw 1 of their last 8 league games.

Very windy conditions today and definitely a game of 2 halves.

1st half playing into the wind was so difficult to move the ball out of our half quickly, as it kept coming back.

Brinklow took advantage of the conditions and soon went 2 nil up, with Jake getting us back into the game after a calm finish under the GK into the bottom corner.

3-1 down at halftime, after their 3rd goal from a wind assisted free kick, but now kicking into the wind for the 2nd half.

We totally controlled the 2nd half, with the introduction of SamF the catalyst with his pace and running in behind....some lovely movement off the ball to create space.

Thoroughly deserved MOTM for his goal and assists, both of which were shots parried by the GK into the path of Ruben to clinically finish the rebounds.

Brilliant performances all over the pitch today, especially as we had to shuffle things around a bit due to only having 2 subs available.

Jake getting us back into the game and having possibly his best game of the season on both wings.

James showing plenty of passion and aggression, and standing in well for Charlie in goal, after Charlie's injury.

SamC playing his usual CM role so well, and also when dropping into CB.

Aiden providing a regular supply of assists from the RW, having a fantastic 1st season with us.

Ruben with a hatrick.

I honestly could go on and on with the superlatives, but we'd be here all night 🤣

As Tom said before, we really couldn't be prouder of these boys and what they're achieving together as a team this season.

The finish line is in sight, in what's been a fantastic season so far.
