U15 Yellows - Acadamy 1

It was a disappointing result for the lads against a team we know we should be beating. 

We discussed how they would set up and what their game would be like however, we struggled to deal with their press and the pressure they placed on us to win the ball high up the pitch. 

There was an element of panic when we were in possession and we rushed our decisions and forced passes that weren’t on. 

When the correct decision was made, sometimes the pass quality let us down giving the opposition opportunities to intercept and regain possession. 

The times that we got it right, we got out with relative ease and advanced into the attacking third with threat, creating scoring opportunities that we didn’t capitalize on. 

However, we never really settled and although our game improved, we were our own worst enemies at times. We must endeavor to get the basics right!!! 

It’s an ongoing theme in training and we will continue to look at pass quality and the details around that. The footage from the VEO will help support my comments but it will also highlight what it looks like when we get it right and we need to find some consistency with that!!
