Match Report: Naas u10 Red vs Kilcullen

Naas u10 Red vs Kilcullen was entertaining battle that could have gone either way.

First Half Highlights:

Naas tipped off the physical encounter and started the stronger of the teams. Noah Collins was extremely brave in midfield and picked up an early injury. He quickly back on to perform great tackles for the team.

Naas were solid at the back with Daragh starting in goals, Robert, Tom and Noah at the heart of defence.

Naas opened the scoring with playmaker Kiaon setting up Ben to put away an excellent finish 1-0. Daragh was called upon to make saves with Kilcullen eventually breaching the defence 1-1.

Naas came on strongly again and were winning the midfield battle with Jacob Behan being at the heart of everything. He never stop running all afternoon. Naas were rewarded when some brillant individual play from Kiaon to put Naas back into the lead 2-1.

Naas could have extended their lead further with Matt being a constant threat in attack. Ben and Evie worked tiressly on the wings. They were however unlucky to concede an own goal right before half time to put the match 2-2.

Second Half Highlights:

Naas made some changes with Robert replacing Daragh in goals and Daragh moving up front. Kilcullen started the half stronger with going in the lead 3-2 again. Robert made some excellent saves to keep the opposition at bay.

However the Naas lads would not lie down and hit back again with Daragh scoring 2 goals in quick succession to put Naas 4-3 up. Kilcullen were denied a goal line decision before eventually equalising 4-4. Naas were extremely unlucky in the end not to grab a winner with chances from Matt, Daragh and Kiaon.

It was a brilliant performance from Naas who were unlucky not to come away with their first win of the season. You could see all the teamwork and determination that will be rewarded to them in the future. Congrats to all!
