Heartbreak on Penalties After Dominant Display Against Calcio

We put in a commanding performance against Calcio but were left to rue missed chances as we suffered a heartbreaking defeat on penalties.

From the first whistle, we controlled the game with an intense high press, forcing turnovers and pinning Calcio deep in their own half. Despite our dominance, we struggled to convert chances, allowing Calcio to stay in the contest.

Oscar provided two moments of brilliance, twice bringing us level with fantastic goals. However, despite our attacking intent, we couldn’t find a decisive third, and the game went to penalties.

In the shootout, luck was not on our side as Calcio edged the contest from the spot. It was a cruel end to a game where we had been the better side, but the lesson was clear—taking chances is key.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take, especially from our relentless pressing and overall dominance. With a sharper edge in front of goal, future victories are surely on the horizon.
