Girls U13's - GNP
The u12 girls were away at GNP tonight in Division one.
After a sluggish start, Stockton took the lead in the 19th Minute when an inswinging corner from Liss went straight through a crowd, into the back of rhe net.
After missing a couple of opportunities to add to the tally, we asked the girls to to take their time in front of goal, and keep their composure.
They did exactly as we asked, and Helen added our second straight after the break.
Now in control, the girls relaxed, and after a brief spell of pressure from the hosts, Liss scored a worldie! Finding the ball just on the edge of the centre circle, she turned and fired a rocket straight into the top of the net. Absolute stunner of a goal.
The girls kept pushing to add more, and in the 50th minute , Freya grabbed another goal, cutting in from the right , and firing home past a helpless keeper.
Some brilliant goals tonight, and some excellent performances all round.
The defence were brilliant at keeping GNP at bay, and when they did break through, Robyn was there to save the day.
The midfield battled hard , challenging for every ball, and not backing down from some quite physical challenges.
Our strikers worked brilliantly together, and we saw some wonderful goals this evening.
Great support too from out parents, as always.
Player of the match went to Liss, and parents player went to Eva, who had an outstanding game in the centre of midfield.
