Open Age Women's Reserve Team - Eldwick Lionesses

A well hard worked result for the reserves this afternoon. 

Even after what was a poor start from our standards, Horsforth took the lead early on through a tidy finish from Jess Cooke. Eldwick then went on to equalise after splitting the defence to make it 1-1 midway through the first half. 

The reserves gained the lead back in the second half from Sophie Breaks, who followed the ball through over the top from Lyra Leng’s free kick to tap it in for 2-1. 11 goals in 4 games for the ST!

Eldwick managed to bite back, with a dominant period which saw them equalise again midway through the second half, with a first time lay off over the top. 

In the last 10 minutes looking for a winner, Leela Jones picks up the ball, and fires a powerful shot which rifles into the back of the net, making it also 11 goals in 4 games. 

Even though the playing levels dropped today, the team still worked hard to maintain our unbeaten run.

A winger with a lot of talent. She picked up the team and showed to be a leader on the pitch, as well as working hard for the team in and out of possession with a deserved goal!

Beth’s first game back was solid, playing in a more defensive role than her usual fullback role. She showed her senior ship and helped the young players grow into the game and worked her socks off.
