Open Age Women's First Team - Boroughbridge

A very tough game to take this week as we took on Boroughbridge who had made a good start to the season.

The game began with a wealth of chances for our attacking 4 seeing Kitty Lee-Bentham through on goal and just putting it wide of the post. Rosie Moor and Lily Stancliffe also saw multiple chances on goal to no avail resulting in us going in at the break 0-0.

The second half resumed and saw more of the same with many chances created but not quite finished. The passing quality of the ladies dropped and Boroughbridge started to get into the game.

as the 60th minute fell, Boroughbridge were awarded a dodgy free kick in their own half. As they lined up to take it Rosie Moor immediately blocked the attempted pass and the ball fell to Joni Stainton.  Joni Stainton drove at the defence and cut inside letting off a wonder strike at goal from 20 yards which dropped straight into the back of the net

Horsforth 1-0 up!

As the game progressed and Horsforth looked to grab another some sloppy defending let the Boroughbridge striker through on goal 1v1 to make the game 1-1

Horsforth tried desperately to find a winner in the last minutes of the game but unfortunately it was not meant to be.
