Man of the Match - Alfie
Parents Man of the Match Suchit
Well done to every single one of the lads today, there was so many possibilities for man of the match, it truly was tough to choose. After my little rant at training the other day, it was good to see that everyone was focused and paying attention when I was talking and we could see the difference from the start of the match, as I think that's our first clean sheet in the first 45mins. Our defensive unit worked brilliantly together today, something I needed them to do, but that was helped with the defensive work our midfielders put in to. I asked for more physicality from our midfield and I defo got what I asked for, hassling and pressing their players for the whole game and getting a couple of goals from that too.
Alfie was my man of the match today, he really put a shift in, lots of battling and hassling when opposition had the ball, but used it brilliantly when he had it, his goal was a cracker to, I know how much he wanted to score in front of his grandad, so that was a great moment for him.
Sushi was parents man of the match and as I said before, I knew that, he was nearly my man of the match, he had great composure on the ball which is crucial as a midfielder and he was another one who was getting stuck in when it was needed. He also stepped in to be a 3rd centre back when Tyler got injured, so great versatility too.
Couple of shout outs, Hugh is in some crazy form a the moment, he started as our number 10 and was brill getting himself a goal and a assist, but then when we went to 3 at the back, he slipped in to one of our holding midfielders rolls perfectly 👌.
My other shout out is to Xavier, I asked him and Ciaran to protect there cardio a bit more and restrict there crazy runs every 5 mins, and he did do that better, he played the back 3 roll great to always seems to be in the write place and gives the opposition a bit of a battering 😂 , he's a tough young man and I would of hated to of played against him when I was a kid.
All in all a real confidence booster to get our league form going again, as it dipped at the end of the year which is understandable having 8 new players in a squad, its going to take time to find the consistency needed to get a promotion, we gave the back 3 system a go for the first time in the 2nd half, it will take a bit of getting used to, but it's something we'll be using more next season, if we're behind and need to get back in to a game, but well done everyone and to the parents to you created a great atmosphere on the side lines for the boys, so much so the other manager said your a loud bunch of parents 😂🏆⚽
