U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Ware Youth
Today we made the away trip to play Ware youth, we warmed up the girls by starting with some passing to get used to the surface.
Starting the game this was practically a new team to us, other than playing them in some tournaments previously.
We quickly found out how high they pressed up the pitch and we struggled to really get out of our half and see some of the good passing that we saw last week, and the weeks before.
We were really unfortunate with our first three goals that we conceded, which were very avoidable. We will work on this in training. Another thing we saw today was that we struggled to press the opposition effectively which allowed them to play right through us and led to lots of shots that we subsequently conceded.
Ollie and I didn't anticipate it as this was not the team that we have been seeing in the past four weeks which have been making such great improvements and being so close to getting some results.
We saw a glimpse of them in the last quarter where we scored our only goal by some great running from Ja'laysia and a cool finish. This also lead to a few other shots following some very good saves from the opposition keeper.
Lastly, we just struggled to keep our structure that we have been working on these past weeks and allowed the opposition to easily run through in space and punish us. However, we did not stop, and hardly dropped our heads.
Our player of the match today was Thea, Ollie and I thought she did not stop running and showed great determination, with some great shots aswell.
