U11 Cougars - Motspur Park FC Lions
FC held fast to notch their first win in the league at a windswept Brookwood Farm against a Motspur Park that had blown them away (get it?) earlier on in the season.
Both teams were with only seven players so when a flurry of knocks and scrapes started creeping in early doors I think both sets of coaches were thinking they may have to take the field.
Luckily Tom Pinchbeck shook off a nasty stud to the boot to launch a long throw into the box, Harry capitalising on some hesistant defending to slot the ball past the keeper.
FC were certainly in the ascendancy for the first half, just couldn't quite get the shot away or get that final touch. The ball fizzed across the box on multiple occasions. But Pinchy was on hand to double the lead on the Buddy Holly, flicking home at the front post after a great corner from Louis, after Jojo has made an amazing mazy run down the right wing.
Motspur Park managed to pull one back when tired legs set in and started to peg FC back. The final quarter was very back and forth, but some great last ditch tackles and hard work defensively meant we managed to secure a deserved win.
PotM was Harry for a combative performance leading the line, nonstop hard work and positive attitude.
