Boys U13's Spitfires - Chetwynd U12
Sunday 21st January
Stockton juniors u12 vs Chetwynd u12
Another strong performance from all the squad.
First half the opposition started well and put the boys under some early pressure. As the half went on Stockton started to get into the game and created numerous chances. Chace, Ronnie, Dougie all having shots saved by the goalkeeper. The deadlock was finally broken by Ronnie who broke quickly down the right hand side, his shot was save by the keeper but he was only able to push it into the net. The second goal came with a little bit of fortune. Corner delivered into the near post by Dougie, the defender tried to clear the ball but Ben was charging it down and the ball found the back of the net.
2-0 half time
Second half Stockon continued to create chances and play good football but as to be expected the opposition applied a little more pressure. They had the opportunity to halve the scoreline via a penalty but were unable to beat Jensen who made a fantastic save to his right hand side. Shortly after that the opposition had a free kick which looked to be going into the top corner but the flying Jensen tipped it round the post to keep the score at 2-0. Those 2 saves were a shot in the arm for Stockton and they took control for the final 15 minutes. Harry hit the post with a curling effort but a few minutes later extended Stocktons lead. Another corner from Dougie found Harry who chested the ball down and on the half volley smashed the ball in. Straight from the kick off Stockton won ball back, Ben picked it up with his back to goal and on the turn shot into the top corner to make it 4-0.
