Boys U11 Spitfires - Christ the King Rovers
Today saw our last group trophy event where we would be up against Christ the King at our Home.
The first half was a brilliant display from both teams and the football on display was - at time - sensational. Stockton took the lead, with a first goal in Stockton colours for Eddie, who showed great instinct to follow-up and pounce on a rebound from the keeper following a Byron cross-come-shot.
The second half was much the same, but for all of our possession and ever increasing tally of attempts on goal, it was CTK who proved to be more clinical in front of goal - including an audacious overhead kick! 👏🏼
We will now play Weddington Sports - Away - in the knock-outs next week.
Todays Player(s) of the match were Oliver for his much improved composure on the ball, showing some sublime skills at times too. We also have the award to Eddie who played up front and continually broke down their play with some fine pressing… and a goal to boot. Well done to both of you 👏🏼👏🏼
