U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Hitchin Belles
Today the U11 Turquoise hosted Hitchin Belles.
First 10 minutes of the game Hitchin started well and passed the ball between each other and it took us a while to settle into the game.
From then on we put pressure on well when out of possession and were unlucky early on not to take the lead with some great efforts from Thea making some great runs arriving at the back post.
Eileen also through on goal was unlucky when the Hitchin defender made a great recovery run to cut across and force a corner.
Level at half time me and Paris asked them all to keep the same tempo and their chance would come. The only thing we could ask more of was when on the ball to always be looking for the early pass and not to hold it for too long.
Second half
Bella, Mia and Lola were called into action early on with a few nervous moments where we couldn’t clear the ball but they all kept calm and dealt with the pressure well.
Chloe then picked up the ball and made a great driving run up the left wing beating two players only to have her shot pushed wide for a corner by the keeper.
span class="Apple-converted-space"> play long balls over the midfield in which our defence and Bella controlled perfectly.
We were starting to create more chances and bang on the 50 minute mark Nylah as skill full as always danced around the Hitchin defence and slotted home the opener. ⚽️
Heading into the final 5 minutes we had a slight change of formation and made sure we made ourselves more compact and looked to see the game out.
Earning a throw just into the Hitchin half Lola with one of her signature long throws picked out Eileen making a great run in from the left wing. Turning well she was rewarded with a great goal to see the game out. ⚽️
An excellent and faultless performance from each and every girl on the pitch today.
Defence.
Calm and composed and excellent communicating.
Bella in goal.
Great distribution and great example of leading from the back also not forgetting her well deserved clean sheet.
Midfield and striker.
Perfect example of playing as a team and supporting each other. On and off the ball everyone knew their role and executed everything perfectly.
Potm was a tough call on a day like today and I did ask for a few parents to volunteer but that didn’t quite go to plan 😂
But luckily a few picked a girl that really stood out.
Not just for her great goal ⚽️ but her endless runs to get into great positions and effort and desire to win the ball back for her team. Well done Nylah 🏆
