U15 Calcio Talent and Select - York City Foundation u15s

Another excellent performance this morning from the Calcio players & this week we achieved the result to match.

We started brightly and were on the front foot with and without the ball. We took an early lead and looked to carry a real threat in attack from the off.

After half time our opponents scored an opportunistic equalizer which was completely against the run of play but the Calcio boys responded brilliantly and continued to outplay a decent York side, going on to score twice in the final quarter of the game to take all the points.

Very similar to last weeks performance in terms of in possession but definitely a step up in terms of how we performed without the ball. Our shape & desire to regain the ball hig up the pitch by trapping our opponents was excellent in my opinion.

With only 12 players available it was great to see the group outplay a previously unbeaten side and it was particularly pleasing to see us improve & become more dominant as the game went on.

Credit to the players as always for showing their quality and backing each other today. Great performance & result. Well done to each of you!
