Sherburn White Rose U12 Girls continued their impressive season with a 5-2 victory over Leeds 28 U12 Girls, marking their sixth consecutive win and putting them tied at the top of the league with a strong 27-goal tally.
In a competitive first half, Sherburn broke through with a well-placed shot from Poppy Glover at the 23-minute mark, followed by Isla Shenton’s quick strike two minutes later. Leeds 28 kept the game close, pulling one back just before halftime.
The second half, however, saw Sherburn assert control as Poppy completed her hat trick with two quick goals, and Maisie Targett put the game beyond doubt with a last-minute goal, cementing the 5-2 win.
Maddie’s skilled goalkeeping earned her the Opposition Player of the Match, while Isla Shenton’s energy in midfield won her the Coaches' Player of the Match.
Defenders Ivy, Molly, and Isla A put in another consistent strong effort, along with midfielders Leah, Caitlin, Emily, and Lola who were always willing to run forward and press the opposition, contributed to the solid team performance.
Liv’s relentless work up front, alongside Poppy and Isla S, who have each netted six or more goals this season, highlights the team’s formidable attacking force.
