Girls U11's Wildcats - Warwick Juniors Angels
3 wins in a row for the Wildcats after a deserved victory today against Warwick. Our performance in our last home match simply wasn’t good enough but 3 big wins since then and we look like a different team!
Brooke, having scored her first 2 goals for the team last week is clearly hungry for more goals. Some great driving runs forward from defence throughout the match today, whilst some slide tackles from captain Hattie kept Warwick under pressure.
After some sloppy defending, Warwick scored what is so often the all important first goal of the game, but not today as we equalised immediately, Rosie with her eyes on the top goalscorer award for the season with a good finish past the keeper!
Hollie didn’t have a lot to do in goal in the first half and was clearly keen to get on the ball so we switched her into midfield at the start of the second half. A brilliant run from Maisie past 4 of the Warwick team ended with a pass to Hollie in the area and a goal for Hollie!! Second goal of the season and also her second against Warwick having also scored against them when we played at the start of the season.
A bit more sloppy play allowed Warwick in on goal to equalise a few minutes later but the Wildcats were desperate for the win and retook the lead immediately, Maisie, also with her eyes on the top goalscorer award, with another good finish!
We had further chances throughout the game but the Warwick keeper made a number of good saves. Warwick almost snatched a draw at the end, but Emilie-Rose made a big save to deny their number 10!
