Girls U12's Lionesses - Socceroks

Home game vs Socceroks 

Great game this morning against a strong team. The girls were tasked with finding more passes to each other during the game, and their hard work paid off with some nice passing moves. 

A tight first half in an evenly matched game turned when Emma hit the scoring underway. 

The Socceroks keeper had kept Emma at bay tipping two shots onto the crossbar. 

Half time came and we discussed a couple of things we could take advantage of in the second half. 

I was delighted with our second half performance, especially as we lost Bella during the game due to illness. Lacey did a great job taking over the gloves and wasn’t troubled in a dominant second half display.

Mona scored a worldly after a short corner, and Elysia nearly did the same from some neat team play from a throw. Good inventive play by us !

Layla continued her scoring run with a goal on the back of her hat trick last week.

Our final goal was nicely taken my debutant Mimi with a neat left foot finish. 

Very pleased overall with everyone’s performance today!

Parents player of match - Lacey - started the game well and didn’t hesitate to step up and go in goal when called upon.
