With an early morning start in Nuneaton, with the clocks having just sprung forward, Leamington Juniors faced against Weddington Spartans. Despite the early kickoff, the Leamington Brakes were more than ready to put on a show.
The game started on an even keel, with both teams fiercely battling for control. The breakthrough came when Sebastian unleashed a shot towards goal, which was deftly followed up by Fin G, who capitalised on the rebound. This marked the first goal for Leamington Juniors, putting them ahead 1-0.
However, Weddington was quick to respond. In a twist of fortune, they equalised with a scrappy goal that Leamington narrowly missed clearing. As the first half neared its conclusion, Sebastian cutting in from the left and delivered a good finish. Leamington Juniors at 2-1.
The second half saw Leamington Juniors intensify their efforts, with Teddy nearly adding to the score as he hit the post. The bar too was struck in a series of near-misses.Yet, persistence paid off when Fin G's agility in the box, netted his second goal, scoreline 3-1.
As the match drew on, just as Fin G was set to be substituted, he achieved a milestone moment by securing his first hat-trick for the club. Oleg delivered a pinpoint throw to Fin in the box, and he guided the ball into the back of the net.
But Then...Sam Markham with a brilliant long-range shot from outside the box, sealing the game with flair.
