EvoSheffield A vs Calcio

We went into this game full of confidence after a big win last week versus UFCA. EvoSheffield A were off the back of a 3-0 loss to AC1. After a close first half we pulled away yet again in the second, proving we can adapt and score against any opposition, winning 6-2.

The first half proved difficult to control their dynamic midfield play makers, with the opposition changing shape during different phases of play. Despite their dominance in possession, we battled hard in our low block, limiting them to low quality chances. 

At half time we made the decision to make a big change. We decided to play 4-2-3-1 in possession and 3-4-3 out of possession, with Charlie playing as an inverted full back, covering both defensive and midfield duties depending on the phase of play. He not only understood his instructions, but executed perfectly, enabling our midfielders to push right up the field and go man for man with their midfield diamond. This proved pivotal, as we shut them down time and again in their own half, leading to big chances high up the pitch and multiple goals. 

A big shout out to the hard work of all our players during this game, again demonstrating resilience and an ability to dig deep and limit the damage when momentum is against us. This was the best footballing team we have played and to win this convincingly is a big achievement!
