Girls U14's - Sollihull Moors

The U13s girls got back to winning ways this week with a good display against Solihull Moors, resulting in a 2-0 victory.

With Freya missing through injury, Xan again stepped up to play in goal, and the girls made the best possible start to the game after 3 minutes. A wonderful passage of passing resulted in the perfect cross from Beth being volleyed in by Ila.
For the next 10 minutes the girls dominated, passing the ball around well,  with several half chances being missed but then Solihull woke up and started to make the girls really work hard to keep their lead, without any real threats of scoring.

Second half and the game was still very evenly matched although we had the scoring chances, but some wonderful goalkeeping and the post kept us out, until finally we scored our 2nd. Another brilliant point blank save from their keeper from Ila came out to Beth who hit it straight back and it flew into the net.

Solihull never gave up but still didn’t create much until hitting the post late on, and a welcome clean sheet was in place with a particularly good performance from Isabelle aided by the ever consistent Ada!

Overall a good performance, some of the passing was great to watch and the determination to not allow chances to be created against us was pleasing.
