Despite this, UFCA started to grow into the game, though they couldn't create any clear-cut chances to break down the Nomads' defense.

In the second half, UFCA switched up their formation to create more offensive pressure. Their persistence paid off midway through the half when they were awarded a penalty. Franklin confidently converted the spot-kick to bring the score to 2-1, reigniting UFCA's hopes.
