Boys U11 Spitfires - Weddington Sports U10s

We took on Weddington Sports for the first time today, in what was a good match to watch, with some nice passing exchanges  from both sides throughout. 

We found ourselves coming in at halftime a goal behind after a nice solo goal for Weddington early on, was levelled up by a clean strike from outside the box from Joshua ⚽️ finding the bottom corner. 

Their second goal was a chance effort that found the net from a wide angle. 

The boys at halftime were positive, themselves saying ‘we can win this’, knowing their good positioning and passing was creating real opportunities. 

As the second half progressed, we did find more opportunities, which on another day would have produced some more goals. 

But  luck isn’t with us at the moment and despite some really good defending from our midfield and Ben and Oliver at the back, we were edged back on three more occasions.

A great team effort today and positives in our play for sure but we just can’t seem to get ourselves in front for long enough to build it into a winning performance.
