U10 White | Russ Lau - Walton Utd

Game of two halves today. Lack of closing down, trying to play fancy long balls and players all going to the ball and diving in in the first half meant Walton were able to just pass around us and gets shots in, giving them a 4 goal lead. Had a couple of moments in the first half that got us forward and a couple of shots away. Finger pointing and dropped heads again all followed. It's a team game and defending starts from the front, not just the defence or goal keeper. All after the ore match team talk of:

PASS THE BALL, DO THE SIMPLE THING, BUILD UP SOME MOMENTUM AND CONFIDENCE!!!

Second half started a bit rough too, but eventually we started playing some football. Got a couple of goals and outplayed Walton, winning the second half...
