Girls U12 (Born 2013) - Clane AFC

The Naas U12 Major girls’ team claimed their first win of the new season with a fantastic 9-3 win away to Clane on Sunday morning.
Aoife Flanagan claimed four goals on a beautiful, sunny morning. Ava Hartigan claimed a hat-trick, her third coming from the penalty spot, while Evie Dodd scored the other two for the visitors who led 6-0 at half-time.
Abbygail O’Connor again made a handful of brilliant and important saves while the starting back three of Millie Mulhall, captain for the day Alex Brereton and Chloe O’Brien succeeded in keeping danger at a distance for long spells.
Hartigan and Layla Drewitt started as the centre midfield pairing and combined well when in possession while also tracking back to help their defence. Dodd and Alanna Leydon provided the width and pushed up time and again to pressure the home rearguard.
With such a strong advantage built up, Naas changed things around for the second-half with various players played in unfamiliar positions - all part of the learning experience! – and Clane took advantage early on with two goals soon after the restart.
Naas settled again after that and finished the stronger to register a fantastic win.
