Boys U10 (2015) Green - Clane

With blue skies and the sun shining, the blustery and baltic wind that blew across Clane soon taught this coach that summer attire should not be worn in April!
Fortunately, a great start with some slick passing warmed those Naas supporters on the sideline. It wasn't long before Mikolaj Podgorniak pounced on a loose ball to give Naas the lead. Not long after, a through ball from Alex Hackett gave Mikolaj the chance to score his second.
With the wind at their backs, Clane always posed a threat with the long ball and, from a resulting corner, Clane scored after a scramble in box. After not putting a foot wrong up to that point, there wasn't anything Meron Kamenev could do to stop it.
Solid defending from Ben Reilly, Cody Broe, and Michael O'Connell kept Clane at bay. A great run and cross from Faniel Futsom gave Jamie Lillis the chance to knick another goal. The half finished with a long ball from Vlad Caracu falling to Raphael Keohoe who confidently slotted it away for a deserved 4-1 half time lead.
Naas dominated the second half with Gavish Gaba and Patrick Hanrahan working hard to ensure the Clane keeper make save after save. Any break away by Clane was quickly cleaned up by the reliable Shuayb Islam at the back. Against the run of play, a dubious penalty decision brought shouts for the KDUL to introduce VAR, but the referees decision was respected. Thomas Friel guessed correctly and was very unlucky not to save it.
With Naas taking control of the game again, Jamie Lillis was rewarded for chasing every ball by pouncing on a defensive mistake to notch his second. A comfortable 5-2 win sees the U10 Green team maintain their winning start to the season.
