U14 JPL 24/25 - Bedwell Rangers
Goffs Oak U13T 4 Bedwell Rangers 0
Today we welcomed Bedwell Rangers to Churchgate, a team we hadn’t faced before.
The first 15 minutes was entertaining end to end football, Bedwell did manage to break through our defensive lines and if it wasn’t for our superb Miley in goal we could have been 1 or 2 goals down in those opening 20 minutes.
After the water break and a formation change the team came out determined to get the crucial first goal ....and what a beauty our first one was.
A handball outside the box gave us a free kick. Ryah-Mae stepped up with instructions to float it into the box hoping to land to one of our players to tap it in, however Ryah had different ideas. She blasted the ball right into the top left hand corner of the goal. Absolutely stunning. What makes it extra special its her first ever goal for the team (on her birthday weekend).
From then on we took full control of the game. There was great work from our midfielders and our defenders held the line clearing the ball with confidence.
A fantastic play by Vanessa in midfield who turned 3 players managed to slide the ball into Ayse who chased at goal to slot home out 2nd.
Then came our 3rd, again from Ayse who has no fear when challenging their defenders. Another team goal giving us a commanding 3-0 lead.
The conditions were again very hot for the girls but they didn’t let up. Chrissy is growing in confidence with more game time and Hetty is showing a healthy appetite to tackle and launch attacks with her trusty right boot.
Our 4th and final goal came from a perfectly weighted through ball from Scarlett into Isla’s intelligent forward run and with a great touch and check back Isla’s delivered her best left foot finish ever.
The girls are showing all the right signs of becoming a strong team. The hard work is being shared out on the pitch and the attitude & effort at training is improving across all the players.
