U13 Purple 24/25 - Harlow Frontiers

Today we travelled to Harlow to play Harlow Frontiers, a team we played previously and won 1:0 and we knew they had the ability to play a physical game.

Staring line up - 3-4-1

Sophie - Goal Keeper

Amelia - Right Defence

Chelsea - Central Defence

Lexi - Left defense

Holly - right wing 

Gracie - centre mid

Isla - centre mid 

Nyah - left wing

Ella - up front 

Started the first half with good build up and had the ball in their half for most of the first 15 mins. Opposition took a few runs at us , but our defence held strong and the next 10 mins was mostly mid field battle.

Made series of subs to change things up abit. This unlocked our first goal 💜 Katie received the ball in their half who made quick pass to Nyah , who ran on to the ball, got passed a defender and tapped to the goal but we saw a great save by the goalie but then dropped the ball, and Nyah was there to pick it up and tap it into the net GOAL⚽🦩💜

First half wasn't over yet, but we lost concentration and a series of runs left us unorganized at the back. Opposition had space and took a cracking shot at goal from our side the box - but Sophie was there and made a brilliant save. 

Another stray ball in our half saw the opposition chip the ball over our defenders and over Sophie - luckily it skimmed over the cross bar, but at half time we were 1:0 up. 

2nd half the opposition came at us hard. They knew they could take shots at us from afar. We changed our back 3 so they were playing slightly higher up, and making challenges sooner rather than dropping back and inviting more shots. It worked and for most of the 2nd half we picked up balls and drove it back into their half.

Nyah picked up a ball in their half , passed to Katie out wide, Katie got challenged and Nyah picked up the ball again , only to pass back to Katie out wide, this time with space she took a cracking shot at goal, and made the keeper stretch to make the save. The ball fell to Sarah who reacted quickly to tap in our 2nd GOAL !! ⚽️⚽️

Rest of 2nd half was much the same , and we had alot more chances too. We’re really building our confidence in front of goal now. 

A great win which sees us now 4th in the division. 💜⚽🦩
