U11 Comets - Goldsworth park Tigers

It may be mothering sundae but the players kept their cool today to not let Goldsworth Park get the better of us this time around. 

This weeks game we had 9 players which meant the two additional subs would give us a better chance to get one over on the the team that beat us 6-1 a few weeks back in our friendly game .

We had Dylan starting in goal and debuting our clubs new goal keeper top. With Henry and Fizaan holding the defensive line , with support from Fletcher in a more defensive midfield role . Josh was out on the left wing with Zaeem on the right and Thomas in central midfield/ attacking role. 

As soon as the whistle went we knew they would want to get that first goal in but Comets were on form to put any stop to a chance in goal . 

Dylan’s first save of the game was caught with ease and kicked up field to josh who takes control of the ball and shoots from far but just misses the post. 

A big kick that was followed from a GWP throw in leaves there attacker to strike from far out as Dylan comes out to collect the ball it just goes past him and into the goal 1-0. 

Alex running the ball out of our box tried a back heel flick past the opposition but was beaten to the ball by a GWP player .

Josh, after losing the ball follows the player back to defend and kick the ball out of play. 

Fizaan clears out the ball and gives it to josh who runs with the ball down the wing and strikes the post . GWP on the attack but this was stopped by Henry . 

Josh with another run down the wing and crosses across the goal but none of our players could get a foot to it. This then leads  straight to an attack from gwp 2-0

Dylan put in defence swapping with Fizaan to go in goal . Tactical throw from Henry, learnt this week in training, to Will and Zaeem who work to get the ball to Fletch who then passes to Alex who strikes it to the back of the net 2-1 . 

Dylan throws down the line to Thomas and then to Zaeem , Zaeem in front of goal taps it through the keepers legs 2-2 . 

A powerful GWP strike hits the cross bar and bounces in front of Fizaan to grab it up and kick upfield . 

A quick throw in from GWP gets a shot at our goal and bounces past Fizaans hands and into the net 3-2 .

Thomas swapping with Fizaan in goal . We started this quarter just hoping for a draw or even to not let GWP score another goal as we played more equally this time around . 

Josh takes a run all the way down the wing past several players and strikes the ball past the keeper from the wing and into the far side of the net making it all level at 3-3 . 

GWP corner and a Header on to the crossbar gets saved by Thomas who then pounces on the ball to keep in our possession . 

GWP desperately trying to take the lead and  another strike at goal needed Thomas to make another fingertip save over the bar to put a stop to any chance of them taking the lead. 

End Result- 3-3
