U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Wormley

The u11 Turquoise made the short away trip to wormley today.

The game started well and we dominated the possession in the first half. Creating some great passing and great chances only to be denied by some great saves from the wormley keeper. Although wormley managed to string together some good passing it fizzled out leaving Bella with nothing much to deal with. 

Half time with the game at 0-0 we felt a bit deflated knowing we could have capitalised early on and been comfortable going into the break. 

Second half with limited numbers we struggled a bit with the pace of the game. (Wormley used this to their advantage with their 7 subs)

A free kick was awarded after the ref decided to call the play back to the halfway line a good 30 seconds late. Coaches and even the players questioned the decision with no response given.

Unfortunately it bounced in the box and a scrambled ball was conceded.

We still managed to press well creating a few more chances but it just wasn’t to be our day. 

We battled hard until the end but just couldn’t find our rhythm.

The disrupt in play with 40 substitutions probably took its toll.

Although the game finished in conceding two goals I need to give a mention to our keeper Bella. 

Sometimes I feel keepers don’t get the credit they deserve and although the scoreline wasn’t in our favour she was amazing today. She made some amazing saves, directed her defensive line and distributed amazingly. 

The two goals were at no fault of anyone and were pot luck scrambles in the box. 

Todays POTM went to Thea

She put in a superb performance. 

Defence, midfield and striker you name it she played it today. She worked her socks off and was unfortunate not to be rewarded with a goal after some amazing strikes.
