U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Watford Ladies
Last game of the season for the u10 Turquoise this morning against Watford. The girls warmed up really well and all seemed fired up and ready for the challenge.
The game started fast with a solid battle in midfield from both teams. Early on we found ourselves held deep and struggled to work our way up the pitch. The defenders battled hard and Bella pulled off some great saves. Late in the first quarter we unfortunately went behind - Watfords number 10 was causing a constant threat and managed to slot it home.
Second quarter we managed to build the momentum well and exploited the wings more. This resulted in us being awarded multiple corners and some good shots on target.
Third quarter with just the one goal in the game we asked the girls to just keep going and battle until the end for every ball. We managed to string together some good passing moves which created some more good shots on the Watford goal. Late in the quarter, up stepped Watford number 10 again - with great feet she managed to finish the game off.
In the Final quarter the pace seemed to have dropped from both teams. Understandable with only the one sub for us today, but the desire to try and win was still there until the very end.
Even being two behind the girls showed how much being part of a team meant to them today. Praising each other all game - whether it be a great save, perfectly weighted pass or excellent composure when under pressure. It was great to see.
With the season now coming to an end and reflecting on the last 9 months - it’s without a doubt been the toughest season to date! However a reminder it’s seasons like this that the girls learn and grow from, and still being a year away from competitive football….. I know there’s only good things to come!
Next stop - Tournament Season 💜⚽️💪🏻
