U13 Calcio Talent & Select - First Touch FC

Another dominant performance from Calcio U13's as we put First Touch FC to the sword 17-1.

The first period started a little flat, perhaps reflecting the bye week from the weekend previous. We typically look to win the physical battle early on and the boys were battling well in midfield, even if we were a little scrappy in transition. However it didn't take long to open the scoring, as Innes slid Jack in with a lovely through ball on 8 minutes.  Another 7 goals were scored in the first half with Jack looking particularly difficult to handle through the middle. 

Second half began as we left off, with plenty of goals! The lads were tasked with securing the ball in transition, improving ball speed and playing two-touch football in our own half to help with this. This took some implementing but by the end of the match we were very effective at playing out and through as the opposition tired. Special mention in the second half to Charlie, Tom and Lucas who really stood out in midfield improving our performance in transition and finding those quick combinations in the middle third. 

We were as effective as ever in the final third, with a sensational performance from Logi, who managed 6 goals and 4 assists in this match, setting a new record for goal contributions in one game for this side. Finally, congratulations to Tom for his Man of the Match award after a tough decision following a 6 way tie in the vote. His tenacity out of possession and his link up play in possession led to 4 goal involvements, tipping the scale in his favour this time.
