Girls U10's - Knowle Spitfires

Back to a league match this morning at home to Knowle Spitfires, our first meeting against this team. We had a few players unavailable for this game so a team of 7 players were representing Stockton today. 

The game started well for us and we were looking to go forward with good intent, breaking the lines and creating chances. 

It was developing into a competitive match with some good exchanges from both teams.

Molly, Daphne & Mila all went close to scoring but we got the breakthrough on the 12th minute, Sienna working herself some space and slotting past the keeper to give us the lead. 

We went into half time holding the advantage after a solid defensive play from Edith and Harriet in goal keeping 

Knowle at bay.

A few changes at half time and within a minute  of the 2nd half starting Knowle drew level, a scramble in the goalmouth which saw the ball tapped in on the line. 

The girls didn’t let their heads drop and regained the lead 3 minutes later with a good finish from Molly. A crucial goal as the game was looking that it could go either way.

With a few players away the girls were definitely enjoying more game time, Mila and Layla were showing great confidence today.

Layla was getting into good areas and was rewarded with a very well taken goal putting us in control of the game. 

Molly wrapped it up with her 2nd of the game, with a little dink past the keeper, taking her tally to 19 for the season. 

A really competitive game in which all of the girls did really well. 👏🏻
