Girls U10's - Kenilworth Wardens
Our last game of the season at home to a newly formed team, Kenilworth Wardens U9’s.
We were looking to finish the season on a high note after the last week’s cup matches not going our way.
It was the perfect start with only a couple of minutes into the game, Ivy latching onto a through ball, colliding with the keeper but bravely managing to lift the ball over the keeper to put us 1-0 in front.
After controlling the early part of the game it was Kenilworth who struck next bringing themselves level after we failed to close them down quick enough, albeit a good strike.
On the ten minute mark, two quick fire goals put us in back in control of the game. The first, a sensational goal from Sienna who curled home from just inside the area. Ivy’s 2nd of the game came straight after, working herself some space and firing low and hard past the keeper.
Whilst the momentum was with Stockton, there was a great fluidity to the game with both sides competing well.
The 2nd half proved to be just as fruitful for us with Ivy taking her chances and adding to her already outstanding goal tally a further four times. Molly also keen to add to her tally was unlucky not to do so after going close a few times. Kenilworth were unfortunate with a couple of chances of their own. They are good team in the making who battled well against us, a team to watch out for I’m sure.
For us it was a great way to finish off the season with a lot to look forward to as we move to 7 a side.
A final note; A parent from Kenilworth remarked how we were a really a good natured team to play which was nice to hear.
Goals.
