Girls U14's - Haunchwood U13’s

U13 girls made it 2 wins from 2 this season after a tough hard fought 2-1 victory against Haunchwood.

The girls dominated the 1st half possession wise, with Macy and Bethan causing plenty of problems out wide with their pace, but a lack of a cutting edge in the middle meant we never really looked like scoring, that was until Ada hit a shot from the edge of the box a minute before half time that nestled in the bottom corner of the goal to give us a 1-0 lead at half time.

A minute into the 2nd half and we went 2-0 up when Ila scored direct from a corner, pinging in off the post. That should have seen us be comfortable for the rest of the game but a silly defensive error a couple of minutes later allowed Haunchwood to reduce the lead. From then on we struggled to really create anything and it ended up being a real battle for the girls as Haunchwood continued to put the pressure on, but a real classy display from Xanthe at the back and a couple of brilliant saves from Freya allowed us to just about hang on.

The girls were definitely not at their best today, they love to make hard work of things at times, but they managed to battle through and secure the win. 👏🏻
