Girls U13's - Vision Vipers
The u12 girls were away at Vision Vipers today, in their first league fixture at 9v9.
The girls started slowly, and were not at the races at all in the first half. After a Frank discussion at half time, the girls came out in a better frame of mind.
After a bout of pressure, Alyssias corner hit a vision defender, to pull us one back.
Now with some confidence, we began to string some passes together. The girls also began to stand up for themselves more, no more so than when Ava made their best player cry, and walk off the pitch after a great battle on the wing. This spurred the girls on more, and we soon got a second goal through Sophie.
Unfortunately, Vision scored a further goal, when the ball deflected off a defender, and looped over Robyn in goal.
The girls didn't give up though, and quickly scored their 3rd goal. Alyssia took a free kick from just inside our half, which flew into the back of the net. An incredible free kick from range!
Vision added their 5th goal late on, hen a speculative shot squirmed just over the line.
Lots of positives to take away from today, particularly the girls spirit, and desire to get back into the match.
Player of the match was Deanna, who was outstanding in defence. And parents player went to Alyssia who worked hard up front and scored a worldie.
Final score 3-5.
