Stockton juniors u12 vs Nuneaton Borough U12

Our first mid week game of the season against 3rd placed Nuneaton.

Due to injuries and the hot weather we decided to change our formation at the start of the game.

Stockton started the game really well and matched Nuneaton in both defence and attack. Nuneaton took the lead after 20 minutes but that did not stop Stockton who equalised soon after. A great first touch from Chace gave himself time in the penalty area to find the net with ease. Unfortunately the boys were unable to come in at half time level, 2 hopeful long range shots from Nuneaton gave them a 3-1 lead at half time.

The second half was similar to the first. Stockton tried to reduce the deficite but some very good defending from Nuneatons no5 thwarted them on numerous occasions. Nuneaton added a 4th goal via the penalty spot. In an attempt to get back into the game we took off a defender and put on another forward but the no5 seemed to be getting in the way of everything the boys tried. Nuneaton scored a 5th and 6th goal as we pushed forward. Stockton were able to get one back before the end, William chipping the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.

Full time 6-2

Not the result that the performance deserved but the boys gave it everything which is all we can ask!
