Another entertaining game!

Super proud of the boys. Mainly with their attitudes to stay in the game and keep going until the final whistle.

Benji's goal was a brilliant finish and the positive end to the game we deserved. I also thought Henry Bowker encapsulated that attitude from the start, showing  grit and  determination, often putting his body on the line - I recall a block on the line that stopped a goal and a superb assist for Joshua. 👏🏻

Goals weren't hard to come by although we probably should have scored more! However, we have two impressive hatricks from Benji and Joshua, topped off with a crafty lob from Isaac and confident penalty from Archie.

Overall, it was a mixed game that saw us playing slick and fluidly through the lines at times, which was awesome to see, and other times being a little rushed and sloppy in possession and tentative and passive in our reactions out of possession – we’ll keep working on this one!

This non competitive game gave me a  good opportunity to try some of the lads in  different positions before we head into the competitive phase. I thought everyone did well overall! And in the last  quarter we switched to 2-4-2, a new formation for us,  and one that allowed us to dominate the midfield. I thought we transitioned into this really well and was impressed with with Harry, Ewan and Aiden’s organisation at the back.

So, a big well done to all the boys. Another good team performance which is exemplified in the photo I've uploaded of a team talk. Before the final quarter, after a quick top up from me, the boys led their own team talk.
