Ruthless but respectful performance.

From the off, you could see that we were going to dominate the game, and we did start to finish. Although we don't want to play this level of opponent every week, this game was possibly the perfect medicine after last week, allowing the boys to bounce back from a disappointing result, and I think we would have been a match for anyone today.

The key messages before the game, as always, were to be brave, calm, together, clever (in our decision making) and happy!

I thought the boys adapted well to a slight change in our 'in-possession' formation - 2-2-4, very well, moving the ball from central areas to the space out wide quickly and efficiently.

Given that the result was 8-0 after the first quarter, I decided to flip things around, out of respect to our opponents, but also to challenge our boys and maximise development. So in the second and fourth quarter, our defenders played up front, our forwards played in defence, our central midfielders played wide and wide players played central. Credit to the boys, they adapted well and we continued to see a solid team performance.

Really happy with our finishing. We saw a whole range of different types - laces, combinations, first time, half volleys, dribbles, long range and tap ins. And it could have been more had it not been for some amazing saves from their keeper who was their player of the match. Good to see what we have been practicing in training coming out in the games.

Next week, we have Forza at home which should be a tougher test.
