Boys U11 Spitfires - Bedworth Utd

A bit late with this one, sorry! We were lucky this weekend as we were - as it turned out - the only team to manage to play due to torrential rain resulting in all other games being postponed.

Up against the only team to have beaten us in the league this season - on the opening day of the season - we welcomed Bedworth Utd to our Home.

It was Stockton that took the game to Bedworth and were hitting shots with confidence - as a result we witnessed two goals of highest order and two contenders for ‘Goal of the Season’ (if that was a thing) 😂 

First up with a contender - and the opening goal - was Josh ⚽️ with a sweet volley that hit the top corner of the goal from the corner of the area 👌🏼

Byron extended the lead to two goals with a close range chip ⚽️ before Bedworth hit back following a lapse in concentration from the Spitfires.

Byron then added his own contender for Goal of the Month by winning the ball in midfield, before looking up and hitting a shot from range that curled into the far corner of the net ⚽️

Next up was Josh etching his name onto the scoresheet again; finishing a great run and cross/shot from Rory with a touch of class ⚽️

A three goal lead at half time and looking comfortable all over the pitch… surely we were taking a win away today… but this is grassroots U10 football isn’t it! 

The second half saw us concede three goals and not add to our own tally. So, scores ended even and in fairness it was a fair result on the whole; a great game to watch… well, the first half at least 🤦🏻‍♂️😂
