Girls U10's - Redditch Borough

Today was a chance to all but secure a place in the knockout stages of the cup. However, in a physical game that opportunity was missed as the match ended in defeat for the girls and possibly our progress in the cup with one game to go.

Redditch were fielding a mixed team which proved to be the difference. A hat-trick for one of their boys. I have mixed emotions on this and the parents were not particularly happy with it either. Having said that we battled well and the 3-1 scoreline didn’t reflect the hard work the girls put in.

Redditch took the lead with a high looping shot which beat the keeper. It took us a while to settle into the game and

Molly pulled us level from close range scoring her 28th of season. We were unfortunate not to go 2-1 after a well driven shot from Molly heading towards goal only to deflect off Scarlett.

HT 1-1

Within minutes of the 2nd half we were 2-1 down after a shot from right hand flew in, a mistake from GK with her back to the play thinking the ball was going wide.

Despite our endeavours to pull level again, Redditch secured the win with their 3rd goal.

Overall some great gameplay but we couldn’t make the most of the chances we created.
