U13 Calcio Talent & Select - Scarborough Athletic FC

After a dip in form of late Calcio showed immense determination to get back to winning ways with an 8-3 victory over Scarborough.

After working hard on our creativity and movement in the final third in recent weeks, our match performance reflected it and helped us on our way to 8 goals versus a much improved Scarborough side.

They set the tone early with physical play out of possession, getting the better of us in the first period by winning first and second balls which helped them progress the ball and create some chances.

After the first team talk the lads pressed with more intensity, initiating the first contact and forcing many more mistakes. In transition we were tidy, holding onto the ball and playing some lovely free flowing football through the second and third periods, turning the screw and putting the game out of sight.

We allowed complacency to creep in a little towards the end, giving the opposition both the desire and chances to capitalise with a couple of goals in the final period.

Everyone played well today on a difficult surface, however special mentions to Jack for his 7 g/a performance today, along with Stonesy and Luca on the left who appeared to really dominate their opponents on the left side of the field, which contained their most dangerous players.
